Local Missions
 
This list of outreach groups and activities is living witness of the energy, contributions and prayerful support of Orleans United Church.
 
 Benevolent Fund - administered by the ministers, the fund responds to emergency requests from needy families in Orleans
 
   Centre 507 - weekly sewing and mending services, used clothing, Christmas gifts, and volunteer board members for this downtown drop-in centre for marginalized men and women.
 
   Gloucester and Cumberland Emergency Food Cupboards - monthly collection of non-perishable food as well as special drives for back-to-school supplies, Christmas gifts for children and school lunch snack packs and financial support through Christmas Choirfest and donations
 
 Helping With Furniture - monthly collection and delivery of used furniture and household goods to refugee and recent immigrant families in need
 
 Interchurch Refugee Group - sponsorship of refugee families and settlement assistance in cooperation with four other area churches
 
 Multi-faith Housing Initiative - assistance with painting and building maintenance as well as financial support for this coalition which owns and manages 47 affordable housing units for people living on the edge of poverty
 
 Nursing homes - visiting where requested and worship services at Bearbrook Court
 
 Ottawa Presbytery Missions - financial contribution to presbytery helps fund Ottawa area missions including chaplaincies at Carleton University, Algonquin College and Ottawa West End Community Centre as well as Centretown Laundry Co-op and Centre 507
