Rev Molly Bell
Christain Education and Co-ordinating Minister
Molly Bell
Born in Winnipeg, Molly considers herself an Ottawa girl as she spent all of her school days in the city. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Queen’s University, and then remained at Queen’s to pursue a Master’s of Divinity degree at Queen’s Theological College. Following ordination in 2000, she served the Aylwin Pastoral Charge in Western Quebec.
At OUC, Molly is involved with a variety of programs including Pastoral Care, Christian Education, Children and Youth Programs. She shares in Worship leadership and presiding at the Sacraments as part of her team ministry. She delights in opportunities to share in creative worship leadership with her husband Stephen.
Currently, Molly is involved in the work of the wider church as part of the national Emerging Spirit campaign, as part of the Conference Committee on Internship and Educational Supervision, as an organizer of the Children at Conference program, and serving as mentor and facilitator for various practical theological education programs.
Time at home or away is spent watching TV (especially reality television!), going to movies, quiet (or not so quiet) evenings with friends, and spending time at the cottage. While family life has made for more time at home, she and Stephen have enjoyed travelling around the world and look forward to more adventures with Emma.
Molly feels called to ministry at Orleans United and is excited and humbled by the opportunities for growth, care, and learning that are offered as she journeys with the congregation, endeavouring to walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
